The 40 Day Fast: Your chance to Join us!
Things are getting busy here in the mailroom, so I’ve been trying to stay on task and get things ready for new and returning students.
The 40 Day Fast continues and I encourage you to check out the bloggers from the past week.
July 22 – Erin Mount
Erin writes about how it can be hard to love someone who lies to your face, and how her relationship as a Big Sis made a difference in one girl’s life.
July 23 – Dray
Dray writes about the Global Rich List which informs you how rich you are in comparison to the rest of the world. [hint: don't use any decimal points, just round dollars up] I’m in the top 10%. Do you feel richer yet? I actually liked the graph on this page more than the calculator/estimator thing, because it gave me a better perspective. He writes about Food for the Hungry and being stuck…
July 24 – Jessica
Jessica writes from South Korea, and prays for North Korea.
July 25 – Los
My worship pastor fasted the day before getting filmed for LA ink! He writes about the pain and reality of child labor. He also posts a myth about child labor and explains why it is a myth: “Poor families need children to contribute economically to their survival.” Check it out.
July 26 – Kat’s Mom writes about her sponsored child, Celine. Be a hero. And Heather who is also blogging/fasting today. She writes this:
“We are starved for answers, but we ask Google instead of God. We crave intimacy, but we write emails instead of prayers. “
I’d like to invite you to join us on Tuesday, July 31st, [next tuesday] as we fast together and pray for one another and for the least of these and to learn ways to live out our faith and make a difference for the hurting, the hungry and the least of these. Let Kat or myself know if you are interested in joining with us on July 31st. Blessings! eph 4:1-4
