ok just in case you forgot i’m gonna remind you:

Hillsong’s Latest live album: This Is Our God

releases in the USA August 5th!

You really want to get this album. I have been listening to it for the past month. (I ordered it directly from hillsong.com, in australia. it was totally worth it.) View the behind the scenes documentary here:

“Healer” has begun circulating the internet and blogs. But as good a song as that is, the entire album is solid. This is our God is definitely one of Hillsong’s best albums, maybe ever. The album is SOLID from beginning to end, featuring incredible songs, incredible music, incredible heart, and incredible passion. I highly recommend you get the DVD as well. There is scripture read before some of the songs that is so powerful. I cannot possibly speak more highly of the Hillsong worship team. They have definitely put together an incredibly anointed worship album, not to say that it is lacking anything. Not at all. Technical excellence and wonderful performances. God was truly worshiped in a big way and I hope the songs from this album spread like wild fire!!

Here is one of my favorites from the album: Brooke Fraser’s Desert Song led by Brooke Fraser and Jill McCloughry. Listen to Jill’s painful, but determined to worship God despite brokenness story, and then the entire song will follow.

The bridge is powerful:

All of my life, In every season, You are still God, I have a reason to sing, I have a reason to worship.

Here are the full lyrics:

This is my prayer in the desert
When all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

VERSE 2:
This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame

CHORUS:
I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

VERSE 3:
This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I’ll stand

BRIDGE:
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

VERSE 4:
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favour and providence flow
I know I’m filled to be emptied again
The seed I’ve received I will sow

Thank you for posting this on your blog , it ministered to me beyond words and affirmed me in what seems to be a night season in my life, where i cannot understand God’s plans but i know He is still in control. The words of the song and the testimony in the video clip was indeed anointed and just such a blessing. Indeed what the Devil intends for harm on God’s children, God uses for His glory. God is good, all the time and to Jesus alone does the glory go too…..

The Bible says in Philippians 1 v 6, “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ,” which means that the Holy Ghost has called you in the beginning to accept Christ, and it is He that will bring us through to the time of Jesus return. For He is the Spirit of promise, and He is our guarantee that He will never ever leave us or forsake us.

Let us always remember that when we accepted Jesus as Saviour, the Bible says that our old life was crucified with Him on that cross at Calvary. But now we live, yet not ourselves but Christ liveth in us, and the life that we now live in the flesh, we live by the faith of the Son of God who loved us and gave His life for us.

My song shall be of Jesus; His mercy crowns my days, He fills my cup with blessings,
And tunes my heart to praise; My song shall be of Jesus, The precious Lamb of God,
Who gave Himself my ransom, And bought me with His blood.

Thanks for this post. I am a Worship Pastor at a church in Bellingham, WA, and I googled for some of the story behind “Desert Song’ and found this post. Thanks for taking the time to write it!
